What is the best free alternative to RoadWarrior?
Geo2 is the best free alternative to RoadWarrior, because the free plan gives you nearly twice the stops and it actually syncs.
That second bit is the one people miss. RoadWarrior's free Basic account lets you build routes with up to 8 stops, but those routes and favourites only exist on the device you created them on. Change phone, or plan on a laptop and drive with your phone, and they're gone. You need Pro to sync.
Geo2 is one account across mobile and web on every tier, free included. Plan tomorrow's round on a big screen with a cuppa, walk out to the van, it's on your phone.
Why are so many drivers looking for a RoadWarrior alternative right now?
Because the price went up.
Go and read the recent Play Store reviews. There's a run of drivers saying the same thing: they could live with $9.99 a month, they're not paying $14.99. RoadWarrior's own reply points people at the annual plan, which is a fair answer if you want to commit for a year and a useless one if you don't.
That's it. That's the whole reason this search term exists. Nobody's saying the app stopped working.
What does RoadWarrior actually do better than Geo2?
Two things, and they're real.
FedEx and OnTrac manifest import. RoadWarrior takes those manifests directly. For a FedEx Ground contractor that's a genuine daily time-saver, and Geo2 does not match it. Geo2 has camera-based manifest and address scanning, which covers a lot of ground, but it isn't a native FedEx integration. If your whole day runs off a FedEx manifest, that's real time saved and Geo2 won't replace it.
In-app turn-by-turn navigation. RoadWarrior rebuilt its app and now navigates inside the app. Geo2 hands off to Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps rather than running its own navigation engine. For most drivers this is a non-issue, because they were going to open Waze anyway. For some it's a dealbreaker.
What if I run a small fleet?
RoadWarrior has a separate fleet product (Flex) with its own web dashboard. This post is about the driver app, so I'll keep it short: if you run 3 to 10 drivers, Geo2 Advanced is $15.99 per user per month with multi-driver dispatch, live tracking and time windows, and the price is published and per-user. Where Geo2 pulls ahead is the driver side your drivers actually touch every day: the AI assistant, voice stop adding and free POD.
